About the company:
The most recognised watch brand to exist is Rolex. Starting out in 1905 by Hans Wildorf in London England, he produced the first reliable wristwatch, challenging its predecessor, the pocket watch. Starting out only creating few wristwatches for jewellers, he found them so popular that by 1908 they opened offices in Switzerland and created a company.
The story behind the name Rolex is unknown, however many have believed it was chosen as it’s easy to pronounce in all languages, and additionally the name itself sounds like the winding of a watch. Rolex is the largest producing luxury watch brand, creating approximately 2,000 per day.
