Compared to other models in Rolex’s Professional range, the Rolex Air-King flies under the radar. It’s not a hugely popular model, but it has a lot going for it at it’s price point. With a low key mid-size 40 mm case in 904L steel and a distinctive black dial, its clear its heritage is as an aviators timepiece. This version is has diamonds inlaid for a little sparkle and the fluted bezel and Roman numerals add more visual interest. As a certified chronometer, with the excellent 3131, perpetual, mechanical, self-winding movement it is a precision timepiece, with a magnetic shield offering further protection.
